CAP-XX BriteSound™ Power Architecture Shortlisted for Elektra 07 Award

Sydney, Australia – December 3, 2007 – CAP-XX Limited (LSE:CPX) today announced that its supercapacitor-based BriteSound™ Power Architecture was shortlisted for the Passive & Electromechanical Product of the Year in the European Electronics Industry Awards (Elektra 07). Specifically, the CAP-XX HS206 supercapacitor was selected as an enabling technology to overcome battery power limitations in a music phone for a richer music experience.

Organized by Electronics Weekly magazine, the annual Elektra awards honor outstanding electronic products, companies, and professionals, as selected by an independent panel of industry experts.

In a mobile phone equipped with BriteSound™, a CAP-XX HS206 supercapacitor delivers five-watt power bursts to offload peak-power functions from the battery. This doubles audio power for rich-sounding music with a strong bass beat, and eliminates the distortion caused by wireless transmissions while listening to music.

Earlier this year, BriteSound™ was also chosen as a finalist in the 2007 Design News Golden Mousetrap Awards. Another CAP-XX BritePower architecture for mobile phones, BriteFlash™, was chosen as a finalist in EDN magazine's prestigious Innovation Awards for 2006. In camera-phones equipped with BriteFlash™, a supercapacitor powers high-brightness LED flash.
